Manmohan Singh, Ansari congratulate ISRO scientists

Sriharikota / New Delhi, Sep 23 (ANI): Vice President Mohd Hamid Ansari greeted the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientists and technocrats for the splendid achievement of successfully launching PSLV C-14 on Wednesday.

Ansari was present at the Satish Dhavan Space Centre SHAR to witness the launching of the seven satellites.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has congratulated the ISRO team for the successful launch of Oceansat-2 Satellite.

In his message, Singh stated: "I am delighted to learn that the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle-C14 (PSLV-C14) launched today from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, SHAR, Sriharikota has successfully launched India's OCEANSAT-2 satellite and six nano satellites from European Universities and agencies.

"PSLV has once again demonstrated its versatility and reliability through this fifteenth successful launch in a row. The OCEANSAT-2 satellite will herald a new beginning in our understanding of the oceans," Singh stated.

He added, "I congratulate the entire ISRO team responsible for this achievement, and wish ISRO continued success in future missions."

ISRO chairman G. Madhavan Nair also congratulated all the staff of the organisation for their effort in making this launch a great success.

The scientists and technocrats hug each other as the screen in the control room started showing the successful placing of the satellites in the orbit.

India launched its second ocean observation satellite along with six other nano satellites from the Sriharikota spaceport.(ANI)
