India assures security during CWG 2010
New Delhi, Sep 23: After many countries participating in the 2010 Commonwealth Games expressed apprehension over security, India has assured that the country will provide enough protection for the teams and the delegates.
Speaking in the first session of the two day conference starting Wednesday, Sep 23, Ajay Maken, the Minister of State for Home, said, "We want to allay fears of the world about the security concern, this is a meeting of the security commanders to assure them of security preparations."
He said that the security arrangements have been designed in such a way there was no way a terror attack could affect the event.
Apart from this, the head of the CWG Organizing Committee, Suresh Kalmadi said that the members of the participating countries will also be taken for site visits on Thursday, Sep 24.
