Maha polls: President's son Raosaheb gets ticket from Amravati
New Delhi, Sep. 22 (ANI): President Pratibha Patil's son Rajendra Shekhawat has been given congress ticket from Amravati constituency for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly polls.
Rajendra or Raosaheb got the ticket to represent the Amravati constituency after an intense scuffle with Maharashtra Minister of State for Finance Sunil Deshmukh, who won it by over 32,OOO votes in 2004.
Despite enjoying a popular support in Amravati, Deshmukh was replaced by the novice Raosaheb as he is the president's son.
According to sources, the selection panel was under immense pressure since it couldn't say no to Raosaheb for the third time.
Amravati was once represented by Raosaheb's father Devisingh Shekhawat. (ANI)
