Strong earthquake rocks Assam
Guwahati, Sep 21: A strong earthquake rocked parts of Assam at around 2:24 PM on Monday, Sep 21. The temblor measuring up to 6.3 on the Richter scale lasted for 20 seconds.
Reports say that people experienced two shocks and rattling leading them to flee out of the buildings.The quake left a few cracks on the buildings in Guwahati. However, no causalities have been reported so far.

survey
epicentre
of
the
earthquake
is
Mongar,
which
125
kms
north-west
from
Guwahati.
North Bengal too reportedly experienced slight tremors.
North eastern part of India is considered as one of the major earthquake prone belt in the world.
