51 militants surrender in Malakand
Islamabad, Sep.19 (ANI): Fifty-one suspected militants surrendered before security forces while seven were rounded up in Swat and Malakand, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.
An ISPR spokesman said in a statement 22 militants voluntarily surrendered to the security forces at Shah Derai, while 10 suspected militants surrendered at Gwalerai.
Thirteen suspected militants surrendered at Peochar, Barshaur and Sarbanda, the Dawn quoted him, as saying.
Security forces also conducted a search operation at Shaggai near Saidu Sharif and apprehended seven militants.
Six militants voluntarily surrendered to security forces at Barikot and Tutan Banda.
Separately, five people were killed near Jerona Malakand village when suspected militants opened fire on a pickup. (ANI)
