Tirupati wants metro to end traffic woes
Tirupati, Sep 18: Chinta Mohan, the Tirupati MP wants metro rail to solve the temple town's traffic problems.
In a letter to Manmohan Singh, the Prime Minister, the MP urged him to consider granting the prestigious project.
Mani said that seven assembly segments in the parliamentary seat jurisdiction of Tirupati and Nellore could be brought under the proposed Metro rail network.
Moreover, as per him, apart from Tirupati temple, Krishnapatnam sea port, Sriharikota space research centre, Mannavaram, Tirupati international airport and the world-class railway station in Tirupati could form part of the metro rail corridor.
Chinta Mohan also said that he would soon speak S Jaipal Reddy , the Union minister for urban development and chief minister K Rosaiah stressing on how this project would benefit Tirupati people.
