Suicide car bomber kills 25 in Pakistan
Islamabad, Sep 18: At least 25 people have been kiled and many injured in suicide car bomb attack at a village market in north-west Pakistan, police said on Friday, Sep 18.
The explosion occurred at a busy intersection close to the garrison town of Kohat.
District police chief Dilawar Bangash said the suicide attacker drove his jeep into the crowd and detonated the explosives.
"At least 25 people were killed and 65 others injured in the blast," officials were quoted as saying by the media.
Sources said that the attack was in revenge for the death of a prominent religious leader, Maulana M Amin, who was killed in Hangu in Jun 2009.
