AAB asks K'taka CJ not to preside over the bench
Bangalore, Sep 18: The Advocates Association of Bangalore (AAB) asked Karnataka HC Chief Justice PD Dinakaran not to preside over the bench untill he is cleared of allegations of acquiring huge wealth.
The AAB held a special general body meeting on Thursday, Sep 17 in the wake of the allegation.
The judge denied the corruption allegation during the meeting with KG Balakrishnan in Delhi last week.
The Supreme Court Collegium on Saturday, Sep 19, will decide the fate of Justice Dinakaran, whose name has been recommended for elevation to the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, senior Supreme Court lawyers Shanti Bhushan, Anil Diwan will be meeting Union Law Minister M Veerappa Moily at the Law Ministry on the Justice Dinakaran issue.
