Iran follows China, expresses concerns over US embassy expansion in Islamabad
Islamabad, Sep.16 (ANI): After China, Iran has also expressed reservations over the massive expansion plans of the US embassy in Islamabad.
Sources said, during his meeting with Jamaat-i-Islami chief Syed Munawar Hussain, Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan Mashallah Shakiri expressed deep concerns over increasing US involvement in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Shakiri stressed on the need for moderate Islamic forces joining hands against the US to prevent it from succeeding in its objectives.
"Both sides emphasised the need for launching public awareness campaigns by the moderate Islamic forces about the US designs in the region and through the platform of Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC)," The Nation quoted sources, as saying. (ANI)
