Buddhadeb will continue as WB CM: Yechury
Kolkata, Sep 14: Denying the rumours of changing the leadership in West Bengal, CPM senior leader, Sitaram Yechury said that Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee will continue to be the CM and a member of the party's politburo
"There is no such thinking in the party. There is nothing like this on the agenda," Yechury, a Politburo member, told reporters at Dum Dum airport on Sunday, Sep 13.
Regarding Bhattacharjee's recent vacation in Siliguri, he said, "The Hills are also a part of West Bengal. He is the chief minister and can visit any part of the state."
Rumours about Bhattacharjee's resignation began when he did not attend three out of four Politburo meetings held since May 16. He also avoided meetings of the central committee and the party state secretariat.
When asked about his missing the meetings, Yechury said, "He was sick and hence could not come. The CM will attend office from Monday."
