Pak 'technically' approves Dhaka-Delhi-Lahore rail line proposal
Islamabad, Sep.13 (ANI): Pakistan Railway Ministry has 'technically' accepted India's proposal regarding a South Asian regional train service running between India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The Railway Ministry has sent the proposal to Foreign Affairs and the Commerce Ministry for further action, The Dawn reports.
Officials said the proposal was floated by the Indian Railways last month on the backdrop of planned launch of an Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul train service.
They said the proposed Dhaka-Delhi-Lahore rail line was feasible in all respects and if the need arose it could be extended to Karachi or Islamabad.
"The initial trials would be container operations followed by passenger services," the report submitted by the ministry said. (ANI)
