New Delhi, Sep.13 (ANI): A Delhi Metro Railway Corporation (DMRC) junior engineer, who was in charge of track maintenance, was suspended on Sunday after a coach of the Delhi Metro train derailed on the Yamuna Bank-Dwarka this morning.

According to reports, the incident took place around 6 a.m, when two wheels of the front coach of the train between Yamuna Bank-Dwarka went off the tracks. It caused panic among passengers, and disrupted the train services on several routes along the metro line temporarily.

No casualties were reported.

"Since it was the first train starting from Yamuna Bank station, there were only 13 passengers. The accident took place as the train approached towards the Yamuna Bridge, just half a kilometre from Yamuna Bank station," DMRC Spokesman Anuj Dayal said

Meanwhile, a high-level committee, consisting of three officials from the Operations and Maintenance Department of the DMRC, has been constituted to probe the incident. (ANI)
