Maoists kill teenager in Chattisgarh
Tunder (Chhattisgarh), Sep 12(ANI): In yet another gruelling incident involving Maoists, a teenager was killed in Tunder village in Chhattisgarh on Saturday after refusing to go along with them.
"Maoists went to Tunder village and forced the village boys to go with them. They could take two boys with them but the third one, Manglu, resisted. He did not want to go with them. In retaliation, the Maoists punished him by shooting at him. They took the rest of the boys for training," said P Sundar Raj, Police Superintendent of Bastar.
Raj further said that following a spate of incidents being reported from the area, the police would initiate a campaign urging villagers to stand up against Maoists efforts to recruit village boys.
"We appeal to villagers that if Maoists forcefully take their boys with them, the villagers must resist this collectively. We are starting a campaign to create awareness on this," Raj said. (ANI)
