2 school stampede victims in critical condition
New Delhi, Sep 11: 12-year-old Ruchi and 15-year-old USha, two students who were of the critical injured in the Delhi school stampede continue to battle for their lives in the hospital.
"Two patients still remain critical. Other patients are showing recovery," JP Kapoor, the head of Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) hospital's casualty department was quoted as saying in a news agency report.
The school remained closed on Friday, Sep 11.
On Thursday, Sep 10, five children were killed and about 30 people injured in a school stampede at the Government Senior Secondary School (Class 6-12) in Khajoori Khas.
Apart from calling for an enquiry into the incident, the government announced a compensation of 1 Lakh for the deceased and Rs 50,000 for injured students.
