BSY orders COD probe into Bangalore church attack
Bangalore, Sep 11: Sensing that the attack on the church could mean detrimental to the BJP government in the state, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has ordered a Corps of Detectives (COD) probe into the incident.
"We will refer the incident for investigation to COD," the chief minister announced in the state legislative assembly on Friday, Sep 11.
Asserting that the government will take measures to ensure the safety of all the worship places of the minorities, BSY reiterated the state Home Minister, VS Acharya's shoot-at-sight order against any miscreants involved in vandalism.
Unidentified people on Thursday, Sep 10 launch an attack on St Francis De Sales Church in Anekal taluk of Bangalore . The culprits damaged statues of Mary and Jesus apart from breaking windowpanes.
Responding to the incident, Opposition Congress has asked the BJP government to take action against the guilty and ensure the safety of minority who are gripped by fear.
