Air India steps in, gains from Jet Airways' losses

New delhi, Sep 9: After Jet Airways flights were cancelled for the 2nd consecutive day, Air India has stepped in to make the most of Jet Airways' losses.

Air India came to the rescue of the Indian cricket team scheduled to go to Colombo for the tri-nation one-day series on Sep 9.

Air India spokesman said that they were supposed to fly by the Jet Airways whose services have been hit by the ongoing strike by its pilots.

Air India will operate a special flight from Chennai to reach Bangalore where it will pick up players including skipper M S Dhoni, yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh and R P Singh.

Meanwhile, other Jet Airways passengers have already cancelled their flights with the carrier. So there was relatively less chaos at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport.
