Tech Mahindra wins $400mn telecom IT deal

New Delhi, Sep 7: IT solution provider Tech Mahindra has won a major portion of telecom IT outsourcing deal worth $400 million from Etisalat DB Telecom India.

Etisalat DB Telecom, which plans to start mobile services in 15 Indian telecoms zones in 2009, said the outsourcing deal would include implementation of its end-to-end IT applications & infrastructure, system integration and managed services.

Etisalat's official spokesperson said, "Tech Mahindra has the required domain and process expertise with a proven track record as part of Etisalat"s launch of operations in Egypt."

He also said, "We are confident that Tech Mahindra"s exhaustive pool of IT skills and innovative delivery models will assist us in the forthcoming roll-out of service in India and delivering the best services & customer experience in the market."
