World rises against Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez
Carcas, Sep 5: The citizens of Venezuela along with the world protested against leader Hugo Chavez alleging that his administration had 'manipulated' the citizens and left them poorer.
In over 20 cities in neighboring Colombia, people protested wearing custom-made tee-shirts bearing slogans such as 'No More Chavez' and 'Chavez: Dictator.'
New York, Madrid, Paris, Brussels, Hamburg, Toronto, also joined in the agitation criticizing Chavez' leftist government and his alleged destruction of free speech.
Two weeks ago, a 28-year-old Colombian businessman Alejandro Gutierrez began the protest by introducing a group called 'Global March against Chavez on September 4.'
Gutierrez said through networking sites like Face book and Twitter he had gathered nearly 300,000 supporters around the globe.
