NTPC moves SC against Mukesh Ambani's RIL
New Delhi, Sep 5: In what comes as a mjor blow to Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), NTPC on Saturday, Sep 5 moved the Supreme Court challenging the Bombay High Court judgement allowing RIL to amend its petition on the gas dispute.
RIL won a contract with the state-run PSU to supply 12 million cubic metres of gas per day USD 2.34 per mmBtu in 2004. But after this an empowered group of ministers had set the price at USD 4.2 per mmBtu.
In a separate petition filed during the course of Ambani brothers' dispute, the government has claimed that only it has the right to to approve gas price.
