Who will be YSR's successor?

Hyderabad, Sep 4: The sudden death of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy has brought Andhra Pradesh administration in a state of chaos.

Although, Finance Minister K Rosaiah as been named the acting chief minister, the struggle for succession seems imminent.

Almost all the state ministers, about 22 MPs and several Congress legislators have pitched for Jaganmohan Reddy, son of Late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

They also called on Andhra Pradesh Governor N D Tiwari and submitted a list of 122 signatures in support of him being made the chief minister.

Congress sources in Delhi have thrown up other names as possible successors.

They include Union urban development minister S Jaipal Reddy, Minister of State for Defence M Pallam Raju, former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N T Rama Rao's daughter and junior Union minister Purandeshwari Devi and acting chief minister K Rosaiah.

Sources said that factionalism is another factor that will be in the minds of the Congress high command.

The fierce succession debate for being successor of YSR continues. The Congress party has put off the selection of a new leader till early next week.
