Mayawati breaks up with HJCP alleging BJP ties
Lucknow, Sep 4: Ten days after announcing seat-sharing in forthcoming Haryana Assembly polls, Mayawati led BSP broke ties with former chief minister Bhajan Lal"s Haryana Janhit Congress Party (HJCP)'s party alleging its connection with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Man Singh Manhera, in-charge of the BSP unit in Haryana, provided no reasons for the break up though he confirmed the news.
“The alliance has been called off, and the BSP will contest 90 Assembly seats on its own," he said.
On Thursday, Jun 18, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati had announced her party"s decision to support HJCP.
Both the parties had also agreed to project Bhajan Lal"s son Kuldeep Bishnoi as the chief ministerial candidate.
