Musharraf says he asked 'nothing' for himself from Saudi King

Jeddah, Sep.3 (ANI): Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has denied reports that his Saudi Arabia visit was aimed at requesting clemency from being tried under high treason charges, saying he 'asked nothing' for himself during his meeting with King Abdullah.

Talking to people representing the Pakistani community here before leaving for London, Musharraf said he discussed only major issues related to Pakistan's development during his meeting.

Musharraf said he would give details of his meeting and would brief Pakistanis on the deteriorating economic situation of the country only after reaching London, The Daily Times reports.

One of Musharraf's close aides, Shahbaz Hussain, also denied reports that Musharraf urged the Saudi authorities to direct the Pakistan government to not to charge him under Article Six during his three-day visit.

Hussain said Musharraf and the Saudi King discussed problems facing the Muslims, Pak-Saudi relations, democracy in Pakistan, the war on terror and Pakistan's economic and political situation. (ANI)
