US Fritzl-victim's daughters' 'minds are blank'

London, Sept 2 (ANI): The two daughters of Jaycee Lee Dugard, victim of US Fritzl Phillip Garrido, were "starved of information" by their father for years, say cops.

Jaycee had Starlite, 15, and Angel, 11, while she was held captive by Phillip for 18 years in his secret evil garden, reports The Sun.

A senior officer in California revealed: "They are both intelligent kids but they are very naive about the real world.

"They have never watched TV and have no concept of maths, geography and history or anything outside their town of Antioch.

"They have never heard of the President of the USA or anything about the wider world."

Following rescue, Jaycee has been explaining how she was snatched from a bus stop at 11 and kept captive and raped for 18 years by Garrido.

The cop, a detective at the Contra Costa Sheriff's Department, said Jaycee, 29, and the girls were now being "de-brainwashed" by psychologists.

The girls, who were taught to read and write by Jaycee, are having to come to terms with the fact that Garrido, 58, was not the "perfect dad" they loved.

The detective said: "They are being given TV microwave dinners and their favourite meat loaf meals. They have never had fizzy drinks so they get cooled water, which is what they are used to.

"Starlite and Angel have never seen TV before and the TV in the house where they are staying has been removed.

"They all sleep in the same room, as they did in the compound behind Garrido's house.

"With every day, Angel becomes more lively but Starlite is quiet and appears very shy." (ANI)
