SC judges to disclose their assets public

New Delhi, Aug 27: The Supreme Court judges on Wednesday, Aug 26, have decided to disclose their assets on the apex court's website.

The decision to make the assets of Supreme Court judges public was taken after a two-hour meeting of all the 23 judges in New Delhi.

The sources said that Chief Justice of India KG Balakrishnan changed his mind after a few judges went public with their assets.

The decision was taken after Karnataka High Court judge Justice DV Shylendra Kumar declared his assets details on Monday, Aug 24

Earlier, Kumar had written an article claiming that most judges were in favour of declare their assets.

Justice K Kannan of Punjab and Haryana High Court also declared his assets on Sunday, Aug 23 while Madras High Court judge Justice K Chandru has also expressed his desire to do so.
