PM advises middle path to Ambanis
New Delhi, Aug 22: Reports from Prime Minister's office revealed that Dr Manmohan Singh felt that the Ambani brothers should resolve the gas issue in national interest.
An anonymous official denied that Singh had offered any suggestions that the Ambanis should follow a middle-path regarding the Krishna-Godavari basin conflict.
"PM's general approach has been that instead of fighting, they should patch up as both their groups contribute sizeably to India's economic growth," he said.
Anil Ambani group firm RNRL, to secure gas at a price of USD 2.34 per mmBtu is involved in a legal battle with elder brother Mukesh Ambani-led RIL . The Supreme Court hearing is in Sept 2009.
