New Delhi, Aug 22: After being expelled from the party, Jaswant Singh seems to be in the mood to divulge some insider information about the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In a new revelation made by the senior BJP leader, he accuses LK Advani for not taking any action against Narendra Modi for the 2002 Gujarat riots.

He made this disclosure in an interview with a news channel where he recalled a discussion over the riots in a flight to Goa. Jaswant said that during the flight Atal Bihari Vajpayee asked the leaders like Advani and Arun Shourie present there about the riots, to which everyone said, “we should think about it (Gujarat)".

Later, when the former foreign secretary asked LK Advani about his stand on the riot, Advani reportedly said that taking action against Modi would work against the party.

Affirming that this move by Advani meant that he was protecting Modi, Jaswant Singh also revealed that Vajpayee dropped the issue after Advani's opposition.

Even though he did not pursue the matter further, Vajpayee remained very distubed, Singh said. He also said that once Vajpayee was so disturbed with the situation in Gujarat that he was ready to resign.
