Stabbing incidents force Mangalore to close at 8pm
Mangalore, Aug 21: After a series of mysterious stabbing cases were reported from Mangalore, the police and district administration on Thursday, Aug 20 directed all shops to close down at 8 pm.
Passing the 8pm to 8 am prohibitory order, the Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner V Ponnuraj told Mangalore, "Wind up your businesses by 8 pm, complete your activities early and be on the safer side."
Since Monday, Aug 17 Mangalore has reported five stabbing cases that have occurred particularly between 8 and 10: 30 pm. According to reports, some miscreants left a severed head of a cow in the compound of a temple and three persons stabbed in communally sensitive areas.
This comes amid the tension over a college banning burqa which has frustrated the muslim community.
