Baghdad: 58 killed, 300 injured in car bombings

Baghdad, Aug 19: At least 58 people were killed and nearly 300 others injured in series of explosions in central Baghdad on Wednesday, Aug 19.

Iraqi police and medical officials said that at least two car bomb explosions struck Baghdad on Wednesday, Aug 19 at 10:00 am, striking first near finance ministry in northern Baghdad and then minutes later, near the foreign ministry next to the Green Zone.

Officials said that the deadliest blast was a car bomb explosion near the foreign ministry, which killed dozens and wounded hundreds. They also said the toll is expected to climb.
