President Patil hosts "At Home"on 63rd I-Day at Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi, Aug.9 (ANI): President Pratibha Devisingh Patil hosted the customary "At Home" on the occasion of 63rd Independence Day at Rashtrapati Bhavan's Ashoka Hall on Saturday.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, his wife Gursharan Kaur, Defence Minister A.K.Antony, Union Minister for Minority Affairs Salman Khurshid, and Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Anand Sharma were present on this occasion.

United Progressive Alliance Chairperson and Congress party President Sonia Gandhi were among the distinguished guests.

Vice President Hamid Ansari, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, senior BJP leader and Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitely were also present during this occasion.

Chief Justice of India, K.G.Balakrishnan was also present on this occasion.

Among other distinguished persons were Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia, and Delhi's Chief Minster Shiela Dikshit.

The gathering of about 250 people also included distinguished personalities representing various foreign countries and offices. (ANI)
