Kerala gears up to tackle Swine flu
Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 11: As specific places in country continues to be adversely hit by the Swine Flu or H1N1, Kerala gears up to face the pandemic by taking precautionary and preparatory measures even though health experts have stated that there is no panic situation in Kerala at present.
As of Monday, Aug 10 there were 55 positive cases in the state. After a health ministry meeting on Swine flu presided by State Health Minister PK Sreemathi, the state government is all set to increase the number of screening centres along with trying to rope in Private hospitals to help deal with the flu.
A health official said that the medicines would be given free of cost in the private hospitals also. The state will be requesting the Centre to provide more masks and medicines.
