Pak court orders to register case against Pervez

Islamabad, Aug 10: Acting on a petition regarding the house arrest of Supreme Court judges, a sessions court in Islamabad has directed police to lodge a case against former President Pervez Musharraf.

The ruling came during the hearing of a petition filed by advocate Aslam Ghuman, who had stated that Musharraf put judges under illegal house arrest in 2007 to prolong his rule.

The additional session judge said the Pakistani law ministry didn't present its stand within the given time frame.

The court has directed the police officer in charge of Secretariat Police Station to record the statement of the petitioner against former president and register a First Information Report.
