Oprah Winfrey accused of plagiarism
Washington, Aug 7: The TV talk show queen, Oprah Winfrey is reportedly being sued for plagiarism. An author, Damon Lloyd Goffe is suing Oprah for a stunning 1.2 trillion dollars for stealing his work and publishing it online as her own.
Goffe filed a an intellectual property case on July 31 against the talk show host and her production company Harpo Inc. He alleges that Oprah took the first draft of of his work, 'A Tome of Poetry' and published it under the title 'Pieces of My Soul'.
Oprah has already sold over 650 million editions of the work at 20 dollars per copy, Goffe said. And according to his calculations this adds up to a total of 1.2 trillion dollars.
