Gayatri Devi's properties in Jaipur inspected by Civic authority
Jaipur, Aug 7 (ANI): A week after the demise of charismatic former royal, Rajmata Gayatri Devi, a team of Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) officials has inspected the part of royal property, which the state government had acquired in 2003.
A team of JDA visited the French styled Lily Pool Palace on Thursday after reports that its boundary line had been tampered with. Lily Pool was the residence of late Gayatri Devi.
Sudhanshu Pant, Commissioner JDA, said that a team of JDA officials visited the Lily Pool Palace to verify reports that the area acquired by it had been tampered with.
"we wanted to establish that whether any changes were being made to the property acquired by the JDA. However the team found out that no changes were made to the acquired land," he added.
"We have come here to measure the land acquired by the JDA. The work is still going on," said Ashish Kumar Shrivastava, revenue officer, JDA.
In 2003, the JDA had acquired part of the Lily Pool Palace property amongst other royal holdings in the city.
The erstwhile royal family is gearing up for a legal battle over the royal properties estimated to be over rupees 10 billion. The late Gayatri Devi's will is likely to be made public on the last day of mourning on August 9. (ANI)
