Shabir Shah supporters demonstrate in Srinagar for his release
Srinagar, Aug 5 (ANI): Activists and supporters of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party on Wednesday staged a demonstration in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar district to protest against the detention of their party chairman Shabir Shah.
The activists raised slogans demanding immediate release of Shah, who has been detained by the State government.
"Our leader Shabir Shah has been arrested and released a lot of times which has now caused a big reason for his deteriorating health. We also want to oppose the rising violations of human rights in the state," said Ghulam Mahi Din, a member of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court had quashed the Public Safety Act registered against Shabir Shah after his wife had filed a petition in which she had mentioned about his ill health.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Shah was admitted to Government Medical College in Srinagar after he complained of some urinary complications. (ANI)
