UK police officers rile taxpayers by observing 'wasteful Muslim Day'

London, Aug.4 (ANI): British tax payers have expressed their ire over two female police sergeants dressing up as Muslim women at their expense.

According to The Sun , the two female sergeants donned burkas and a PCSO wore a headscarf to see how people reacted as they strolled the streets.

Police said the In Your Shoes scheme in Sheffield helped "celebrate diversity".

One senior officer said: "It's just ridiculous. People want to see more officers patrolling streets - not dressing up."

Matthew Elliott of the TaxPayers' Alliance blasted what he called a "politically correct gimmick". (ANI)
