Two NDFB militants killed in Assam encounter
Dhemaji (Assam), Aug 2 (ANI): Two National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militants were killed in an encounter with the police in Assam's Dhemaji district today.
According to official sources, militants exchanged fire with the security forces at Santipur in the district.
Arms, ammunition and some documents were seized from them, they added.
The NDFB was formed on October 3, 1986. The outfit was originally established as the Bodo Security Force (BdSF) under the leadership of Ranjan Daimary.
The NDFB was formed with the purported objective of securing a 'sovereign Bodoland' in the areas north of the river Brahmaputra. (ANI)
