Gayatri Devi's Lilypool bungalow as museum!

Jaipur, Aug 2: Late Gayatri Devi's Lilypool bungalow could be converted into museum like that of Shakespeare, Sigmund Freud and W A Mozart, said Tourism Minister Bina Kak.

Kak said that the Jaipur royal family could turn the banglow into a magnificent tourist attraction by converting it into a museum depicting the life and times of one of the most fascinated woman of the world.

She also said the museum could be set up at Lilypool if the Jaipur Royals want as they own the various memorabilia associated with the former maharani like her photographs, clothes, jewelleries, antiques and above all various gifts she received from people of eminence.

"This concept could be a unique experience where people would not only be able to see her abode but also the memories associated with her. This could set a new trend in the country where the dwellings of the popular figures could be converted into a museums," the minister added.

"Moti Doongri, where she spent some part of her life, could also be considered. If the royal family find it difficult to convert either of them into a museum, the state government could set up a big section dedicated to Gayatri Devi in the proposed museum that it plans to have at the old Vidhan Sabha," she said.
