Krishna to discuss racial attacks on Indian students during Australia visit
New Delhi, August 01(ANI): External Affairs Minister S. M. Krishna will undertake a five day visit of Australia from August 6 and is expected to discuss and express New Delhi's concern over alleged racial attacks on Indian students.
Krishna will meet Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and his Australian counterpart Stephen Smith.
This is the first high-level visit from India to Australia since Indian students studying in Australia were subjected to attacks.
Krishna will also visit Sydney and Melbourne to assess first-hand the problems being faced by Indian students.
He will participate in the Annual Post Forum Dialogue Meeting of the Pacific Island Forum in Cairns. India has been a dialogue partner of Pacific Island Forum comprising of sixteen countries since 2002. (ANI)
