JK: Militants shoot at CRPF, 2 injured

Srinagar, Aug 1: Two CRPF men were severely injured when they were shot at by militants who stuck minutes before the Congress convention. The police said that the militants started firing at the CRPF men deployed outside the Pamposh Hotel on Saturday, Aug 1 at around 1125 hrs IST.

Both the injured personnel have been rushed to a hospital. It is learnt that one of the two are in a critical condition. The firing caused panic and the shop keepers pulled down their shutters and ran for safety.

The state Congress had organised a convention of Srinagar District Congress Committee at the Hotel situated at the heart of the city. The JKPCC Chief Saifuddin Soz was expected to address the meet at noon.
