Stiletto wearing Brit woman gets #18,000 damages after tripping in pub!
London, July 31 (ANI): A Brit woman, who tripped and broke her leg when her stiletto heel got stuck in a crack in pub's floor, has been given 18,000 pounds as compensation.
Selena Gilder, 40, was having a cigarette in a pub smoking area in October 2007 when the heel stuck in the crack, and she fell backwards through an unsealed door, breaking the tibia and fibula of her right leg.
Gilder, then a hospital cleaner, needed three operations and was off work eight months.
She sued the pub, claiming the smoking area was poorly lit. She said she had just two Bacardi and Cokes before the incident and insisted she was not drunk.
Gilder, who now works at a car dealership, expressed delight after insurers for The Albion in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, settled out of court.
"I'm happy about the money, because what happened to me at that place was horrific. I was in constant agony. It's been horrendous," the Daily Express quoted her as saying.
The pub has declined to comment on the matter. (ANI)
