London-based activists 'co-ordinating' Iranian protest movement
London, July 31 (ANI): A dental surgery manager and a London-based sociologist are said to be coordinating the protest movement in Iran.
Azadeh Assadi and Vahid Saderigh have been providing crucial support to opposition leaders in Tehran from their homes in London, The Daily Telegraph claims.
The exiles take their cue from Iran's Green Movement that has been the rallying point for an unprecedented challenge to the leadership of the Islamic Republic since the June presidential election. he present regime in Iran has severely criticized Assadi and Saderigh's efforts.
Iranian leaders have consistently blamed British meddling for the eruption of protests after President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was re-elected in June.
British Foreign Secretary David Miliband has dismissed the allegations as "wholly without foundation."
While Assadi played a leading role in protest movements inn Iran a decade ago, Saderigh escaped Tehran after spending five years in prison for underground democratic activities. (ANI)
