Govt takes steps to get black money back
New Delhi, Jul 30: Finance Minister on Wednesday, Jul 30 said in Rajya Sabha that the Centre has taken steps to get back black money stashed by Indians in foreign banks.
Mukerjee said that the government has got assurance from countries like Switzerland which have strong banking secrecy laws, that they would be willing to share more information provided.
He also said, "It is used only for purpose of tax collection and as promised, we have taken action within 100 days. We will follow the code of G-8 countries under which exchange of information will take place."
