Bhutto's protocol officer's 'conspiracy culminating in assassination' petition against Musharraf, Malik
Rawalpindi, July 30 (ANI): The protocol officer of late Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has filed a court petition seeking registration of a criminal case against former President Pervez Musharraf, Interior Minister Rehman Malik and former Punjab chief minister Pervaiz Elahi for planning a "conspiracy that culminated in the assassination of Bhutto".
Advocate Chaudhry Mehmood Aslam, who claimed he had been Benazir's protocol officer from 1986 to 2007, also named former Intelligence Bureau (IB) chief Ejaz Hussain Shah, Babar Awan and others in his petition, the Daily Times reports.
Aslam filed the petition under Section 22-A holding Babar Awan, Lt General (r) Hamid Nawaz, the interior sectary, Brig (r) Javed Iqbal Cheema, former DCO Irfan Elahi, then Rawalpindi CPO Saud Aziz, SSP Yasin Farooq and SP Khurram Shahzad as respondents.
Aslam claimed the respondents were involved in the planning, preparation and execution of a conspiracy to kill Bhutto. (ANI)
