London, Jul 30: Four Indian men have been arrested in the United Kingdom for immigration offenses. The men aged between 21 and 36 who did not have work permits were arrested when the immigration officials conducted a raid on a supermarket in Oxford.

One of the four arrested was also arrested on the suspicion of possessing a counterfeit Belgian passport and National Insurance card. 24-year old has been charged with fraud and ID Cards Act offenses and was taken to Oxford Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, Jul 29, the official sources revealed.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Oxford Crown Court on Aug 7.

Other two are in immigration detention and are awaiting removal from the country while another was granted immigration bail and the UK Border Agency was furnishing procedure to deport him.

The authorities have slapped a heavy fine of 40,000 pounds on the store owner unless he could prove the correct checks were carried out on the men, the UK Border Agency said.
