Metro mishap: Gammon India banned for 2 years

New Delhi, Jul 28: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation's (DMRC) action report, which was submitted to Urban Development Minister on Tuesday, Jul 28, said that Gammon India has been banned from construction for two years, news channels reported.

The report has also asked Contractor Gammon India to reply within a stipulated time, if fails to reply to the notice, it will be blacklisted.

Jaipal Reddy, Urban Development Minister said, "Design consultants will be blacklisted for five years, Tandon Consultants, the structural consultants to be debarred for two years. M/s Gammon India will be given a show cause to be blacklisted for two years."

The DMRC had formed an enquiry committee after the Zamarudpur incident in which at least six persons, including an engineer killed when an under-construction Delhi Metro bridge collapsed on Jul 12 in Delhi.
