New Delhi, Jul 26: Its heart wrenching and a shame on the UPA government to forget the day of the Kargil Martyrs who fought selflessly on the borders to protect us. Instead of showing respect for their sacrifices, the Congress MP called it has the war of BJP and he has nothing to do with it.

Congress MP Rashid Alvi said, "Kargil isn't a thing to be celebrated. The war was fought within our territory. We didn't even come to know when the Pakistani army crossed over and built bunkers inside our territory. It's only the NDA which may celebrate."

If Alvi's views were shocking, former minister of state for home Sri Prakash Jaiswal couldn't even remember when the Kargil war was fought and won. When asked about Vijay Diwas, he wanted to know when the day was celebrated.

Every day, there are so many patriots sacrificing their lives for the nations and every year, since Kargil at least 400 security personnel have died in action across India. The MP should realise this and should apologise for such irrelevant statements.
