Hindu activists protest conversion of a woman to Christianity in Bhopal

Bhopal, July 26 (ANI): Activists of Hindu radical groups on Sunday protested outside a church against the conversion of a Hindu woman to Christianity in Bhopal city.

Protestors demanded a case should be filed into the incident, as it was described to be an attack on the Hindu culture and fraternity.

"The administration should take action against this kind of conversion because this is an attack on Hindu culture. Under the conversion laws of our country, a case should be registered against them. The priest who has come from outside should be arrested. This is our demand," said Chandrashekhar Tiwari, President, Sanskriti Bachao Manch

However, the woman taking a holy dip in the precincts of the Church said she converted on her own, denying any pressure by the church.

"I am a Hindu. But I have been coming to this Church for the past ten years to become Christian," said Kunti, a Hindu local.

Corroborating her version, father of the church categorically denied the allegations made by the Hindu radical group.

"This was not conversion. It was a holy dip," said Abraham George, priest.(ANI)
