UPTU counselling from Jul 26 to Sep 3

Lucknow, Jul 23: The various government engineering colleges and technical institutions affiliated to the UP Technical University will start counselling for admission from Jul 26 and it will go on till Sep 3.

The decision by UPTU administration came after government ordered the private colleges to follow the reservation norms set by the government. The Uttar Pradesh government has reserved 50 per cent seats for the backward castes.

The counselling which was scheduled to happen on Jul 10 was postponed as the high court ordered a stay due to the petition filed by private institutes, which opposed quota system.

To the SLP filed by the state government in the Supreme Court, the apex court left it to the private colleges to decide whether they wanted to follow the quota system or not.
