TDP MLA held for molesting Kerala students
Hyderabad, Jul 21: The state police on Monday, Jul 20 arrested Telugu Desam Party legislator for allegedly molesting female students from Kerala of TVR college of Nursing in Nidadavolu in West Godavari.
The arrest was made after five female students complained to the state Home Minister and state Human Rights Commission that T V Rama Rao tried to molest them.
Earlier, on Jun 18 , Nidadavolu police has held the TDP legislator for rape and murder of a student. The police could not make any progress in the case as it failed to find any proof of the offence.
However, on Jul 4 the five students from Kerala appeared before state Home Minister P Sabita Indra Reddy and complained that the legislator made a rape attempt. The statements were recorded before the CID which is now investing the case.
While Rama Rao family members also started an indefinite fast early this month to withdrawal of the case. TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu accused the Congress government for imposing false cases against the legislator.
