Obama administration delays terror policy report

Washington, Jul 21: The Obama administration has delayed to submit its terror policy reports on US detention and interrogation as it was devising the new anti-terrorism policy, an official said.

The administration which appointed task forces, have failed to meet the six-month schedule for making policy recommendations on how terror suspects should be interrogated or how to hand over the criminals to other countries.

Senior administration officials said on Monday, Jul 20 that the report on detention will be delayed by six months and the report on interrogation and transfer policy will be delayed by two months.

The officials also said the reason for the delay was that they were not authorized to discuss the issue on the record.
